All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CARL JOSEPH HAYDU Newsoms - A funeral service for Carl Joseph Haydu, killed Saturday night by a hit-and-run vehicle was conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Franklin, by the Rev. John Wysocki. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Charles Kirkland (Kirk), Walter Porter (Stephen), J.C. Bunn (Count), Beale Carter, Jr. (Beal III), Lemuel Rountree (Keith), and Eppa Prince (Doug). Haydu, 13, was headed to his home half a mile away when an automobile hit him. A native of Yonkers, N.Y., he was a son of William Paul and Mrs. Palma Disisto Haydu. He was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Franklin. Besides his parents surviving are two sisters, Linda Ann Haydu and Doreena Ann Haydu, and two brothers, William P. Haydu, Jr. and Mark Anthony Haydu, all of Newsoms.
