Robert D. Fridley of High Street United Methodist Church, Franklin, and the Rev. Harry Bunch of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk, was in charge. Pallbearers were Jack Francis, Ray Porter, R.D. Whitley, Caleb Hurst, Francis Whitley, Garth Hancock, Franklin Whitley and Garnett Whitley Jr. Hedgepeth, 66, of 817 W. 44th St. died in a hospital Friday at 7 p.m. A native of Southampton County, he lived in Norfolk several years. He was a son of Joseph H. and Mrs. Josephine Estelle Johnson Hedgepeth and a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church of Southampton County. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. G.E. Whitley of Franklin, and Mrs. Karl W. Scott of Handsom; a half sister, Mrs. Mildred Vaughan of Franklin; and a brother, G.D. Hedgepeth of Courtland.
