All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HENDERSON THATCH HEDRICK Henderson Thatch Hedrick, 77, a former resident of Franklin, died in a Norfolk hospital at 4:15 o’clock Sunday morning, September 23, after a brief illness. A native of Chowan County, N.C., he resided for several years in Franklin, where he was connected with the Merchants & Farmers Bank. He also married a Franklin girl, the former Miss Lucy Pretlow, who preceded him to the grave. They had son, Henderson T. Hedrick, Jr., who died a few months ago. Mr. Hedrick moved with his family to Norfolk in 1908, where he was long connected with the Colonna Ship Yard as secretary-treasurer. He was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church. Surviving him is a niece, Mrs. Beulah Spence of Norfolk. Funeral services for Mr. Hedrick were conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Dr. Sparks W. Melton, pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
