Hill of this community died at the home of her brother, L.A. Hill, in her thirty-eighth year*. She was of frail constitution, but so energetic and useful was she in the home and the neighborhood that her death was unexpected until a comparatively short time before the end came. She was a loyal and consistent Christian character and our community is a better place in which to live because of her life among us. The burial services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.R. Vans and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Barnes Church, with many pretty flowers to cover the newly-made grave. The pallbearers were J.B. Johnson, Dr. J.M. Bland, Leroy Barrett, Jarvis Brett, W.T. Smith and T.H. Barrett. She leaves to mourn their loss a sister, Mrs. John Johnson; a brother Mr. L.A. Hill, and a large number of relatives and friends. The moonlight stars are beaming, Upon a silent grave, Where sleeps, without dreaming, One we could not save, Shine on, bright star, and shed your light, 'Twill help us on our way, The night will soon be over, And then the endless day.
