All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ IDA MAGEE HALL Of more than ordinary interest to the elderly residents of Franklin was the death Saturday morning in a Norfolk hospital of Mrs. Ida Magee Hall, wife of G. Leslie Hall. Mrs. Hall, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Magee, was a native of Franklin, and here she spent her girlhood and young womanhood. She was the sister of Mrs. Annie Magee Holland, wife of J. Peter Holland, owner and publisher of the The Graphic, the county paper immediately antecedent to The Tidewater News. Mrs. Holland died in 1942 and is buried in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery.* Funeral services were held from the Hall residence in Norfolk on Monday afternoon, with the Rev. W.H.T. Squires, D.D., pastor of Ingelside Presbyterian Church, officiating. Pallbearers were Brice Holland, J. Peter Holland, Jr., Randolph Holland, J.B. Dey, Dr. A.A. Burke, Albert Sidney Johnson, W.S. Harney, T.W. Robey and Bret Magee. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Only a short while before her death Mrs. Hall had received word that her son, Lieut. Charles Beverly Hall, previously reported missing after a flight over Germany, was a prisoner. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and a daughter; also by a brother, Pressley Magee, of Washington. Ida (MAGEE; Mrs. G.
