Howell: Suffolk, VA, 1925 Suffolk Deaths JOHN D. HOWELL April 12, John D. Howell, a prominent citizen of this city, died his morning at 8:15 o'clock after a brief illness, aged 46 years. His is survived by his wife who was Miss Nannie Bell Johnson; two sons, Marvin D. Howell and John D. Howell, Jr. and a daughter, Mrs A.M. Davis, four sisters, Mrs. Cones, Mrs. Phillip Duke, Mrs. Mae Nelms, and Mrs. Pearl Howell; three brothers, H.H. Howell, Joel Howell and R.L. Howell; a grandson, and his mother Mrs. R.B. Howell. He was a member of Beaver Dam Church and was connected with the Suffolk Lumber Company. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, the hour and place to be named later. ****************************************************************************** Suffolk Funerals JOHN D. HOWELL Suffolk - April 13. Funeral services for John D. Howell will be conducted at the home on Jackson Street Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. W.W. Staley assisted by the Rev. H. S. Hardcastle and the Rev. F.O. Criminger. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lloyd Carroll, J.C. McCarthy, Tom Ellis, C.B. Deford, J.C. Pierce, Henry Duke, Joseph Pratt, J.S. Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be O.W. Sheffield, B.D. Crocker, J.E. Crocker, A.T. Walls, L.J. Hobbs, Dillard Spivey, W.J. Keller, Dr. J.L. Walls, Dr. C.E.
