HOWELL (MAMIE BARRETT HOWELL) Mrs. Frank E. Howell died this morning (Monday) at 8:30 at the Medical College Hospital, Richmond. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, time to be announced later. ****************************************************************************** MAMIE BARRETT HOWELL Mrs. Mamie Barrett Howell, 76, died Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Medical College Hospital, Richmond. She was the wife of Frank E. Howell and daughter of Richard Crawford and Mary E. Powell Barrett of Southampton County. She was a resident of Franklin until recently when she went to make her home with her sister, Mrs. L.C. Holland, in Suffolk. She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and for many years was a member of the choir. Besides her husband and sister, Mrs. Holland, she is survived by two sons, Frank E. Howell, Jr., of Suffolk and R. Malcolm Howell of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Bene Barrett Rawls of Franklin; a brother, R. Sidney Barrett of Franklin; a granddaughter, Mrs. Joe Crawford, Jr., of Bradenton, Fla., and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, her pastor, and the Rev. C. Bailey Jones of West End Baptist Church, Suffolk. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herbert Cobb, Lloyd A. Darden, C.B. Farmer, W. Herman Eley, Jack G. Holland, D.C. Cotton, Jr., Robert C. Ray and Jerome Felton. ****************************************************************************** SUFFOLK - Mrs. Mamie Barrett Howell, 76, mother of Frank E. Howell, Jr., and sister of Mrs. L.C. Holland, 201 Cedar St., with whom she had made her home recently, died Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Medical College Hospital, Richmond. A former resident of Franklin, she was the wife of Frank E. Howell and daughter of Richard Crawford and Mrs. E. Powell Barrett of Southampton County. She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church. Other survivors are another son, R. Malcom Howell of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Bene Barrett Rawls of Franklin; a brother, R. Sidney Barrett of Franklin; a granddaughter, Mrs. Joe Crawford, Jr. of Bradenton, Fla., and two great-grandchildren. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church and the Rev. C. Bailey Jones, pastor of West End Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Franklin. The casket was covered with a pall of red roses and white carnations. Pallbearers were J.J. Felton, C.B. Farmer, Lloyd A. Darden, Robert C. Ray, D.C. Cotton, Jr., Jack G. Holland, W.
