Howell, died at her home in Courtland Saturday in her 56th year. Mrs. Howell had been an invalid for several years and was always happy to have her friends visit her. She joined South Quay Baptist Church in early life and held her membership there until her death. Funeral services were conducted at the grave in Riverside Cemetery in Courtland Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. Gordon L. Price, pastor of the Courtland Baptist Church. The body bearers were: H.A. Gillette, W.S. Williams, R.G. Edwards, A.L. Brandon, J.H. Johnson, J.W. Rollison, H.D. Babb and W.T. Pittman. Mrs. Howell is survived by three sons, Floyd and Lee Howell of Courtland and H.R. Howell of Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. D.H. March of Holland; a sister, Mrs. Lucy W. Spencer of Elizabeth City, N.C., and brother, Melza Howell, of North West, Va. Mattie E. (HOWELL LAWRENCE; Mrs. David W.)
