Holland and Sons Funeral Chapel, by the Rev. Thomas F. Mabe and Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Letcher Eley, T.A. Darden Sr., Jessie McClenny, Phillip Blythe, J.P. Bradshaw, Hayes Holland, John Moody and E.A. Davis. Howell, 75, died Friday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Carrie Cobb Howell* and a son of William F. and Mrs. Geneva Holland Howell. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, Bruner Men’s Bible Class of Franklin Baptist Church, and a retired farmer. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, William Herman Howell Jr., and Robert C. Howell of Franklin; three grandchildren, and one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Robbie C. Council Sr. of Franklin, and Mrs. C.R. Waters of Charlotte, N.C.; and three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
