Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. Rudolph Kidd. Burial was in the Holcombe family cemetery. Pallbearers were Edgar Blythe, Harvey Lankford, Jr., Norman G. Lankford, Ashley Lankford, Lee Moorman White, Wesley Wills, Herman Cobb and Johnny Ford. Mrs. Holcombe died Saturday in a Chesapeake convalescent home. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Andrew G. and Mrs. Indiana Drake Lankford and the widow of Clifton James Holcombe. She was a member of Nottaway Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Stockton E. Wright of Smithfield, Mrs. L.B. Brittle, Mrs. R.H. Bradshaw Jr., Mrs. J. Clifton Barnes, and Mrs. Joseph Simone of Franklin; three sons, J. Braxton Holcombe of Courtlalnd, Marvin A. Holcombe of Philadelphia, and C.J. Holcombe Jr. of Suffolk; two brothers, Harvey A. Lankford and Vincent C. Lankford, both of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Gabriella "Gabie" (LANKFORD TURNER; Mrs. Clifton J.)
