CHARLES LINDSEY HOLT SR.

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Charles L. Holt Sr., 67, was held Tuesday 
in High Street Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeremy Galloway.  Burial was in 
Black Creek Cemetery with Wright Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Edgar Lowe, Wilroy Stephenson, L.E. Bailey, Sam Butler, 
Fred Williams, Charles Winstead, Roy Brooks, and Delbro Johnson.

   Holt died Sunday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Grace Raiford 
Holt.

   He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and was retired from 
Union Camp Corp.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the 
American Legion and Meherrin Coin Club.

   Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Shelby Coggsdale of Franklin 
and Mrs. Charlotte Goodman of Holland; three sons, Charles L. Holt, Jr., 
Winston C. Holt and Douglas W. Holt of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Shirley 
Weatherall of Beltsville, Md.; and three brothers, W.H. Holt Jr., and Fenton 
B. Holt of Franklin, and Douglas D. Holt of Cresent City, Fla. and eight 
grandchildren.
