COSCO AULSO HOLT 

C. A. Holt, 83, Merchant of Ivor, Dies 

   WAKEFIELD - Cosco Aulso Holt, 83, retired Ivor merchant, died in the 
hospital Tuesday morning after an illness of four years. 

   He was a Southampton County native, husband of Ester Callis Holt and son 
of Andrew Jackson and Mrs. Eunice Gay Holt. 

   An Ivor merchant 35 years before his retirement, he was a member of 
Wakefield Baptist Church, a charter member of Ivor Ruritan Club, and a member 
of the board of directors of the Bank of Sussex & Surry. 

   Surviving are two sons, J. Reginald Holt of Wakefield and Emmett W. Holt 
of Franklin; a brother, A.N. Holt of Ivor, and two grandsons. 

   A funeral service will be held in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, 
today at 3 p.m. by the Rev. D.M. Cotter of Wakefield Baptist church.  Burial 
will be in Ivor Cemetery.

   A funeral service was held in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, 
Wednesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. D.M. Cotter of Wakefield Baptist church, 
assisted by the Rev. G.C. Bentley of High Street Methodist Church Franklin. 
Burial was in the Ivor Cemetery. 

   Pallbearers were J.N. Barker, J.N. Savedge, Jack Bain, L.A. Brantley, C.M. 
Ramsey, O.L. Holt, Dr. E.C. Nettles and G.L. Munford.

Final Rites Held For Cosco A. Holt 

  Cosco Aulso Holt, 83, died Tuesday morning in a hospital after an illness 
of four years.  He was a native of the Ivor community, a son of Andrew Jackson 
Holt and Eunice Gay Holt, and was the widower of Esther Callis Holt. 

  He was a prominent merchant in Ivor for over 35 years, a member of 
Wakefield Baptist Church and a charter member of Ivor Ruritan Club.  Before 
jis retirement, he was a member of the board of directors of The Bank of 
Sussex and Surry of Ivor and Wakefield. 

  He is survived by two sons, J. Reginald Holt of Wakefield, and Emmett W. 
Holt of Franklin; two grandsons, Bobby N. Holt and Jimmy E. Holt of Franklin; 
one brother, A.N. Holt of Ivor, and several nieces and nephews. 

  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral 
Chapel by Rev. D.M. Cotter of the Wakefield Baptist Church.  Burial was in 
Ivor Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were J.N. Barker, J.N. Savedge, Jack Bain, L.A. Brantley, C.M. 
Ramsey, O.L. Holt, Dr. E.C. Nettles and Geo. L. Munford.
