All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EMMETTE WATSON HOLT FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Emmette Watson Holt, 70, was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in High Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeremy Q. Galloway. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, with Wright Funeral Home in charge. Holt died Sunday in his home. A native of Ivor, he was the husband of Frances Blythe Holt. He was a retired, 30 year employee of Union Camp Corp. and a member of High Street United Methodist Church and its Men’s Bible Class. He was a member also of Knights of Pythias Lodge 51 and Woodmen of the World. Other survivors include two sons, Robert Nelson Holt of Blacksburg and James Emmett Holt of Hickory, N.C.; a sister Mrs. John Shaughnessy, and three brothers, Calvin D. Mitchell Jr., Thomas F. Mitchell and Robert E. Mitchell, of Richmond; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Ivor or Franklin Rescue Squads or a church or charity of one’s choice.
