Leslie Lee "Buddy" Holt Sr., 81, a native of Southampton County, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at his home. Born on July 30, 1918, he was the son of the late Anthony Drew Holt and Rosa Alberta Wilkins Holt. He was a retired truck driver and maintenance man at Southampton Meadows Mobile Home Park in Franklin. He had attended Southside Baptist Church, Suffolk. He was the husband of the late Blanche Elizabeth Price Holt for 60 years. He is survived by three sons, Leslie Lee Holt Jr. and his wife, Virginia K. Holt, of Prince George, Johnny Lewis Holt and his wife, Jackie B. Holt, of Suffolk and Jerry Wayne Holt of Smithfield; a sister, Florence H. Darden of Franklin; two brothers, Jimmy T. Holt of Ohio and Horace J. Holt of Arlington; three grandchildren, Brian Ray Holt, Chad Holt and Todd Holt; three great- grandchildren, Ashley Holt, Andrew Holt and Amanda Holt; and a very special companion in his last years, Dot "Tony" Branton of Suffolk. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev. Billy Ray Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
