Holland died Wednesday morning at her home in North High Street in her 47th year, after an illness of many months. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Byrd of this town, her father dying about seven months ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by an eleven-year-old daughter, Harriet Lee Holland; her mother, Mrs. Byrd; six brothers, C. Oscar, S. Edward, R. Emmett and W. Curtis Byrd of this town; Alfred Byrd of Murfreesboro and Jesse Ray Byrd of Washington, and one sister Mrs. Lizzie Lee Kreticson of Washington. Mrs. Daisy Byrd Holland was a consistent and useful member of High Street M.E. Church, teacher in the primary department of the Sunday school and leader of the Primary Missionary Society of that church. She was highly esteemed throughout the town and community, and her brave efforts for physical recovery had excited the admiration and sympathy of all who knew her. Funeral services were held from the residence yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by her Pastor, Rev. Roscoe Jones, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson and Rev. J. Sutherland-Watt. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being: L.P. Simmons, Dr. R.L. Raiford, Paul C. Holland, Jr., K.R. Holland, W.B. Simpson, Robert O. Hayes, Dr. Beaman Story and H.F.
