Holland, well-known farmer of the Franklin community, died at Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, Sunday, July 7, after an illness of only a few days. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Algy Holland and was 42 years of age. Mr. Holland is survived by his widow and a number of relatives in the town and community. He had been a member of Sycamore Baptist Church for a number of years and his Pastor, Rev. Kenneth E. Burke of Courtland, conducted the funeral service from his late home Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin. Joel C. Holland, E.K. Brinkley, Mrs. Kenneth E. Burke, Mrs. H.G. Cobb and Miss Lizzie May Cutchin sang with J. Edgar Weede as pianist, and "The Old Rugged Cross" was given by Mrs. Cobb and Miss Cutchin. Interment was made in the family vault in Poplar Spring Cemetery here.
