[sic; P.] Holland Dies at Home of Niece Mrs. Ida Peek Holland, age 65 years, resident of Carrsville, Va., died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Clarence Moore, on Norfolk-Portsmouth Highway Wednesday night after a few hours illness. Mrs. Holland was the widow of Edward W. Holland, of Carrsville, and daughter of the late Amnoy [sic*] Peek of Norfolk County and Mrs. Guadie Hayre Peek, of Norfolk County, who survives her. Besides her mother she is survived by one son, Edward W. Holland, Jr., of Norfolk.; one grandchild, Edward W. Holland, III, three sisters, Mrs. E.N. Savage, of Magnolia; Mrs. O.L. Peek, of Jolliffs, Norfolk County, Mrs. L.J. Deans, of Highland Park, Portsmouth, one brother, George A. Peek, of Norfolk. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. "Gaudie" (HAYRE) PEEK, are buried in the PEEK Memorial Cemetery, Jolliff, Chesapeake. (Find a Grave Cemetery ID #2363280) Her father (1840 - 1917) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. I, 61st VA Infantry; his name sometimes appears as Ammon. Her mother "Gaudie" (1850 - 1951) applied for a Confederate widow's pension 20 Nov 1928 in Norfolk Co. (Portsmouth R.F.D.).
