All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LELIA ADA HOLLAND Miss Lelia Ada Holland, aged 68 and a resident of Franklin for the last twenty-five or thirty years, died at her home in High Street last Thursday morning, after suffering a stroke Wednesday, from which she did not recover or re-gain consciousness. Miss Holland was born and spent her early life in the South Quay community, and had been a member of the South Quay Church since girlhood. She had engaged in the millinery business here retiring from active life a few years ago. She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. J.C. Griffin of Holland and Miss Penelope Holland and Mrs. C.C. Seal of Franklin; two brothers, J.B. Holland of Suffolk and Jason Holland of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the home last Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by the Reverend R. D. Stephenson. Interment was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Fitzhugh Holland and Frank Holland of Suffolk, Harvey Griffin of Holland, C.V. Seal of New York, James Seal of Littleton, N.C., and John Tom Seal of Richmond, all nephews of the deceased, Robert S. Daughtrey and C.L. Spencer of Norfolk. Lelia Ada HOLLAND, retired milliner, b.
