She was native of Nansemond County and lived in Martinsville 20 years where she taught school. She was the daughter of Wilbur Lee and Mrs. Blanche Duke Holland, a member of First Baptist Church, Martinsville, and a member of the Virginia Teachers Association. She is survived by a brother, Frank Holland of Holland, two nephews, Frank Holland, Jr., of Franklin and John Marvin Holland of Holland; and a niece, Miss Betty Rose Holland of Holland. A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Rev. Phillip Jenkins of South Quay Baptist Church, and Rev. C.F. Horne of First Baptist Church, Martinsville. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Felton, J.W. Hamilton, Fred Stallings, Everett Griffin, James H. Daughtrey and A.R. Butler.
