ROBERT EDWARD HOLLAND

   FRANKLIN - Nov. 21 - Robert Edward Holland, 71, well known resident of the 
Sycamore community died this morning in a local hospital after an illness of 
a few weeks.  Mr. Holland was the son of the late Calvin and Sarah Summer 
Holland of Southampton County and husband of the late Nora Harcum Holland, of 
this community.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert K. Stephenson, of 
Emporia; three sons, H.H. Holland and Wilson Holland, of Franklin, and R.E. 
Holland, Jr. of Lumberton, NC; two sister, Mrs. J. Richard Howell and Mrs. 
James E. Coggsdale, of Franklin and a number of grandchildren.  The funeral 
procession will leave the Holland Funeral Home at 3:30 pm Saturday, arriving 
at the grave at Sycamore Cemetery at 4 o’clock for services, with the Rev. 
Floyd P. Davis and the Rev. J.B. Isam, officiating.

ROBERT EDWARD HOLLAND 

   Robert E. Holland, son of the late James Calvin and Sarah Sumner Holland, 
died Friday, November 21, at Raiford Hospital.

   Mr. Holland was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and funeral services 
were held at the grave in the church cemetery Saturday afternoon at 4:00 
o’clock, conducted by the Rev. Floyd P. Davis of Elizabeth City, N.C., 
assisted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, 
and the Rev. John B. Isom, pastor of Sycamore.

   Surviving Mr. Holland are one daughter, Mrs. Robert Kelly Stephenson of 
Emporia; three sons, Homer H. and James Wilson Holland of Franklin and Robert 
E. Holland, Jr. of Lumberton, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. J. Richard Howell and 
Mrs. J.E. Coggsdale of Franklin; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

   Pallbearers were Pat Cotton, George Burgess, Jas. A. Johnson, R.S. Maddrey, 
C.B. Smart and I.Q. Wiggins.
