VIRGIE LUCILLE HOLLAND

   HOLLAND - A funeral service for Miss Virgie Lucille Holland, 78, was held 
Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. R.T. Grissom.  Burial 
was in Southampton Memorial Park.

   Pallbearers were: J.R. Chappell, Willie Spivey, James Worrell, Gene Roller, 
Louis Talley, Barney Barnhill, Melvin Warren and Robert Warren.

   Miss Holland died Sunday in her home.

   A native of Nansemond County, she was a member of Holy Neck Christian 
Church.  She retired after 40 years with Western Union.

   Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Worrell, Mrs. Bernice 
Chappell, and Mrs. Evelyn Holland of Suffolk, Mrs. Viola Taylor of Windsor, 
and Ms. Myrtle Mae Barnhill of Bethesda, Md.; and a brother, Kenneth Holland 
of Morningside, Md.
