All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ GEORGE RAY HOLLOMAN George Ray Holloman, 42, prominent farmer and lifelong resident of Newsoms community died at his home Friday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock after an illness of two weeks. He was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church and was a World War veteran, having served overseas. Mr. Holloman is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Ada Cook*; one daughter, Miss Olivia Holloman; three sisters, Mrs. James T. Story of Newsoms, Mrs. Stella Jamison of Redlands, California, and Mrs. Herbert Bryant of Suffolk; one brother, J.R. Holloman of the community, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Rev. C.F. Moseley, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was made in the Newsoms Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: R.W. Bradshaw, Ernest Coggdale, J.T. Story, Jr., J.C. Bunn, R.A. Bunn, L.F. Gray, Ray Vick and Sterling Bryant. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
