All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES ROBERT HOLLOMAN James Robert Holloman, 63, a prominent farmer of the Newsoms community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Sunday night, September 28, after a short illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Eunice Cook Holloman and the son of the late Charlie Robert and Lydia Missouri Vick Holloman of this county. He was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church and of Newsoms Lodge, Woodmen of the World. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jane Ellen Vick and Miss Charlie Catherine Holloman, both of Newsoms; one son, James Robert Holloman, Jr., of Newsoms; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. J.T. Story, Sr., of Newsoms and Mrs. Herbert Bryant of Driver. Funeral services for Mr. Holloman were conducted at the Newsoms Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock by the pastor, Rev. R.L. Chadwick. Interment was in the Newsoms Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sterling Bryant, Jack Bunn, Howard Ellis, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, E.J. Lassiter, J.C. Story, Henry Whitaker and J.Q. Worrell.
