LOUISE MOORE HINES Mrs. Louise Moore Hines died at her home in Boykins on Friday, December 10. Funeral services were held from the Boykins Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. W. S. Ferguson, pastor of the church, and Rev. Ralph L. Haga, a former pastor. Pallbearers were J. H. Drewry, and G. E., H.W., L.A., L.F. and O.L. Hines. Mrs. Hines was born on March 11, 1895, in Hertford County, N.C. She first attended school at home under a governess. Later she attended Blackstone College and then Farmville State Teachers College, now known as Longwood. Louise Moore and Floyd A. Hines were married on November 16, 1915. To them were born two children, Horace Henderson of Boykins and Carl Meredith of Richmond. There are six grandchildren. Mrs. Hines, in cooperation with Mrs. J.Y. Mason, organized the Boykins Literary Club, which later became the Boykins Woman’s Club. This club celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. She also organized the Boykins Library, which for some years was located in her home and she was the librarian. She was an active member of the Boykins Methodist Church, being treasurer of the Woman’s Society of Christian service for about ten years, president of the Epworth Bible Class for several years, and communion steward until the time of her death. She was often chairman of the welfare committee for her club and her Sunday School class, helping with the distribution of gifts at Christmas. She was always ready to serve on any committee when asked and could be depended upon to do her share of the work. Though critically ill for some time and suffering almost unbearable pain, she never uttered a word of complaint. She was always jolly and, until the very last, had a smile for all who were with her. She is survived by her husband, Floyd A. Hines, her two sons, six grandchildren, her father, H. A. Moore, and four sisters; Mrs. J. H. Drewry, Miss Charlotte Moore and Miss Carrie Moore, all of Boykins and Mrs. L. F. Hines of Richmond. The beautiful flowers and the numerous friends who attended her funeral attested to the love and esteem in which she was held in the hearts of every one. Louise (MOORE; Mrs. Floyd A.)
