All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ RALPH THOMAS HINES Funeral services for Ralph Thomas Hines, Jr., 10 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hines of Franklin were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the residence of his paternal [sic; maternal] grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. C.J. Atkinson, in Suffolk, by Dr. H.J. Stephenson of Franklin. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A quartet composted of Mrs. R.H. Jacobs, Mrs. Paul Rawls, J.K. Hines and James R. Harrell, accompanied by Mrs. W.W. Anderson, sang "Asleep in Jesus." A solo, "I Think, When I Read That Sweet Story of Old," was sung by Mrs. R.H. Jacobs. There were many floral tributes and the casket was covered with a pall of white rosebuds and fern. Active pallbearers were Gilbert Porter, Horace Pierce, Jr., Charles Howell, Joe Spivey. Flowerbearers were Barbara Spiers, Mildred Saunders, Jean Wilkins, Ernestine Gilmore, Kathleen Blankenship, Louise Sandlin, Helen Rawls Barnes. Ralph Thomas HINES, Jr., d. ca. 15 Jan 1937, age 10 months, son of Ralph T. [Sr.] & Annie E. (ATKINSON) HINES, of Franklin, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block Y, Lot 10; unmarked*), Suffolk, 17 Jan 1937, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Jan. 22, 1937 *Added to list with father & paternal grandparents.
