SAMUEL BLOW HINES

1788 - 01/05/1857

   Departed this life, in the county of Southampton, on the 5th of January 
1857, after a short illness, Col. Samuel B. Hines, in the 69th year of his age. 
To many of his friends at a distance, who, in times gone by have gathered at 
his hospitable board, this notice will being a sigh of regret for the departure 
of another old Virginia gentlemen, a breaking of another of those golden links 
that connect us so pleasantly with the past. Having reached the allotted period 
of human life, suddenly, like mellowed fruit, he fell to his mother earth, and 
rendered up his soul to Him who gave it.
