Edmund Ellis. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Mrs. Hancock died Friday in her home. A native of Bertie County, N.C., she was the widow of Romie W. Hancock Sr. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Catherine H. Bass of Courtland; a son, Romie W. Hancock Jr. of Vinton; five sisters, Mrs. Elleise T. Hancock and Mrs. Bertrice T. Halsey of Sedley, Mrs. Lessie T. Edwards of Capron, Mrs. Catherine T. Daughtrey of Franklin, and Mrs. Beverly T. Johnson of Newport News; four brothers, Henry Tillery of Portsmouth, Hubert C. Tillery of Suffolk, Julian Tillery of Sebrell, and Thomas Cecil Tillery of Sedley; and five grandchildren.
