ETHEL POPE MILES HAND

   BOYKINS - A funeral service for Mrs. Ethel Pope Miles Hand, 61, was held 
Monday at 2 p.m. in Clarksbury Baptist Church by the Revs. Paul Worrell and 
Durwood Vaughan.  Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, with McDowell Funeral 
Home in charge.

   Mrs. Hand died Saturday in her home.

   A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of Fletcher Hand.  She was 
a member of Clarksbury Baptist Church.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Darlene H. Garris of Murfreesboro, 
N.C.; a son, William Raiford Hand of Spring, Texas; and three grandchildren.
