HUNDLEY Franklin, April 23 - Mrs. John A. Hundley, 88, well-known resident of Vicksville, Southampton County, died this morning at 6:30 o’clock at her home after an illness of a few weeks. Mrs. Hundley is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George Vick, of Vicksville; Mrs. H.H. Thornton, of Courtland; three sons, Z.A., J.C., and G.T. Hundley, all of Vicksville. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock by the Rev. A.W. Roten assisted by the Rev. Elwood W. Jones. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. John A. Hundley, 88 years old, died at her home in the Vicksville community early last Saturday morning, following a brief illness. Mrs. Hundley was the daughter of the late George Gardner and Mrs. E. Willis Gardner of the county, and widow of the late John A. Hundley who died in 1902. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George B. Vick and Mrs. H.V. Thornton of Courtland; three sons, Y.C., J.C. and G.T. Hundley, all of the Courtland community; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery here Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock by the Rev. A.W. Roten of Courtland Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Elwood W. Jones of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Pallbearers were R.L. Johnson, Geo. B. Vick, Jr., G.T. Hundley, Jr., R.M. Dickerson, L.W. Davis, Hubert Beale, W.T. Cobb and F.T. Hundley.
