All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Hamilton Dies, Aged 68 FRANKLIN, Va., Oct. 13. - Mrs. Hattie Mae Hamilton, age 68 years, well known resident of the Sedley community, died yesterday afternoon at Raiford's Memorial hospital after short illness. She was the widow of late John M. Hamilton, and the daughter of the late Joseph Q. and Sarah Bowden Moore, of Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a faithful member of the Grace Memorial Methodist Church. Mrs. Hamilton came to live in our community about two years ago, moving here from Richmond. She has made many friends in this community, and will be missed by all who know her She is survived by one son, David Irvin Hamilton, Hampton, Virginia, one grandson, two sisters; Mrs. R.C. Williams, Sedley, Virginia, and Mrs. H.C. Bass, Richmond, Va., one brother, J.E. Moore, Richmond, Va. and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the Holland Funeral Home and will remain there until Thursday at 1 p.m. at which time it will be taken to the Grace Memorial Methodist Church at Sedley. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. At two the funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. E.R. Collie, pastor, and interment will follow in the Rosemont Cemetery in Sedley.
