All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ANDREW JEFFERSON HARRUP FRANKLIN - Nov. 1, - Andrew Jefferson Harrup, 60, lifelong resident of Southampton County, died last night in the Raiford Memorial Hospital after an illness of a few hours. He was the husband of Mrs. Catherine Williford Harrup, of Berlin, and the son of the late William and Ida Mar Harrup. He was a member of the Millfield Baptist Church, near Ivor. In addition to his wife, Mr. Harrup is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Galdys Harrup Hayner, of Sedley; four sons, Joseph A., Robert Lee, William Ryland, and Cecil D. Harrup all of the Berlin community; three brothers, Thomas, Henry and Surry Harrup, all of Joyners; two sisters, Mrs. Mack Stanbury, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Mrs. Kenneth Jenkins, of Courtland; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body will be taken Monday from the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, to the Millfield Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm, by the Rev. Julian Orrell, pastor. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. ****************************************************************************** ANDREW JEFFERSON HARRUP Andrew Jefferson Harrup, 60, a life-long resident of Southampton County, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Saturday night, October 31, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Catherine Williford Harrup of Berlin, and the son of the late William and Ida Mae Harrup. He was a member of Millfield Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Harrup is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Harrup Hayner of Sedley; four sons, Joseph A., Robert Lee, William Ryland and Cecil D. Harrup, all of the Berlin community; five grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas, Henry and Surry Harrup, all of Joyner; and two sisters, Mrs. Mack Stanbury of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Mrs. Kenneth Jenkins of Courtland. Funeral services for Mr. Harrup were conducted at Millfield Baptist Church on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by the pastor, Rev. Julian S. Orrell. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Lonnie Bradshaw, Jule Bulls, Raby Cornwell, Billie Cutright, Garland David, Henry Felts and H.W. Wade.
