William Spivey. Burial was in Capron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gardner Harrup, Payner Harrup, Crawford Harrup, Bobby Francis, Phillip Edwards and Francis Drummond. Harrup, 81, a retired farmer, died Monday in Greensville Memorial Hospital. A native of Sussex County, he was a the husband of Mrs. Ida H. Harrup and a son of James William and Mrs. Gracie Powers Harrup. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Hazel Drummond of Emporia and Mrs. Edna Barnes of Capron; a son William C. Harrup of Emporia, a sister, Mrs. Bell Stansbury of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; a brother, Surry J. Harrup of Emporia; and 13 grandchildren.
