PETERSBURG, VA., March 23.- Gladys Simmons Harris, wife of W. Garland Harris, died yesterday afternoon at the Petersburg Hospital. She was 21 years of age, and besides her husband leaves her mother, Mrs. R. F. Simmons, three sisters and three brothers, Misses Mary and Edna Simmons, Alva, Benjamin and Henry Simmons, of this city, and Mrs. S. H. Rollings, of Southampton County. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the grave in Blandford Cemetery. Rev. J. Calloway Robertson, pastor of Trinity M. E. Church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. H. P. Clark, pastor of Washington Street M. E. Church. Elnora Gladys (SIMMONS; Mrs. W. According to the contributor, her infant son William Garland Harris, Jr. (Memorial# 82851975) lived only 15 hours, 22 Mar 1924, and was buried (unmarked) in his mother's grave. She married 7 Apr 1923, in Petersburg. Her husband remarried in 1927.
