All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ARTHUR HUDSON HARCUM LYNNHAVEN INN OPERATOR DIES Arthur Hudson Harcum, age 52, died at a local hospital yesterday morning at 12:05 o’clock after a short illness. He was a native of Franklin and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 36 years. He was the son of Mrs. Mary Simpson Harcum and the late Warren Wilson Harcum. Mr. Harcum was prominently known as the operator of the Lynnhaven Inn. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Paul Harcum; a daughter Mrs. a son, James Paul Harcum, of a son James Paul Harcum of Lynnhaven; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Brinkley and Mrs. Minnie Ratley, both of Lynnhaven, and Mrs. Bertha Kellenberger, of Norfolk, four brothers, R.H. and I.H. Harcum of Portsmouth, R.L. Harcum of Norfolk, and R.G. Harcum of New York City, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o’clock in the chapel of the James V. Derry Funeral Home, 1920 Colley Avenue. The Rev. Kenneth E. Burke, pastor of the Borrows Memorial Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth.
