Mr. and Mrs. Harcum and the child were proceeding south along High Street, en route to their home about three miles from Franklin on the Monroe Bridge road and a car driven by Johnnie Griffin Jr. was proceeding north along High Street. Griffin was arrested by Officers Arwood and Poythress of the local force and charged with reckless driving and involuntary manslaughter. He posted bond Saturday for his liberty, a hearing being scheduled before Franklin Civil and Police Justice Claude J. Edwards on June 21.
