Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Darden Battle of Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby Carr, Walter L. Young Sr., Ecil B. Rader, Marshall DeBerry, Linwood Simms, J. Vaughan Beale, Russell Cotton and Claude Edwards. Harcum, 62, died Saturday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a son of Julius and Mrs. Dora Gardner Harcum Daughtry.* He was a Southampton County native, a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, and a farmer. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Fenton Cobb, Mrs. Doris Kirkland, and Mrs. Lois Daughtrey of Franklin. Julian appears with them in the 1940 Census, on Monroe Bridge Rd, Franklin Dist, Southampton Co. - James was a dairyman, Julian a laborer at the dairy.
