LUTHER CLARENCE HARCUM

   Funeral services for Luther Clarence Harcum, age 52 years, son of the late 
Orris W. Harcum and Mrs. Rosa L. Harcum, who died at 10:45 o’clock yesterday 
morning in a local hospital, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock at 
the Snelling Funeral Home.  Interment will take place in Olive Branch 
Cemetery.  Mr. Harcum was a native of Southampton County, but had made his 
home here for the past 20 years.  He resided at 1913 Prentis Avenue.  He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Jane Harcum; three sons, Ottis Harcum, 
Luther O. and Abbitt B. Harcum, all of Portsmouth; four sisters, Mrs. J.T. 
Eley, of Rescue; Mrs. K.T. Brown, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mrs. L.T. 
Hathaway, of Suffolk; a brother, O.L. Harcum, of Westhaven, and four 
grandchildren.  Mr. Harcum held membership in Highland Park Baptist Church.
