Hardee, a well-known citizen of Southampton county, died suddenly last Monday evening. He was buried Wednesday with Masonic honors. The deceased was about sixty years old, and was one of the county supervisors. Captain James H. Hardee appears in the 1880 Census (Drewryville Dist., e.d. 102, p. 22B) age 51, b. NC, with wife Elizabeth (56, b. TN).
