Brittle. Garrett Funeral Home was in charge. Hardy died Wednesday in his home. A native of Pamlico County, he was the husband of Evelyn Johnson Hardy. He had retired from the Army and the postal service. Other survivors include two stepdaughters, Vicki J. Branch of Tallahassee, Fla., and Carol Baker of Allendale, S.C.; two stepsons, Kenneth M. Johnson of Virginia Beach, and Taylor Bishop of Franklin; a sister, Mary H. Britt of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Alton G. Hardy Jr. of Suffolk, Joseph D. Hardy of Prattville, Ala. and Charles R. Hardy of Sanford; and two grandchildren.
