HARWELL Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Oliver Harwell, 76, of Courtland, who died Saturday, April 27, in a Williamsburg hospital after an illness of several years, were conducted on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Rev. O.L. Gochenour, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Harwell was a former resident of Norfolk, but had lived in Southampton County for the past nine years. She was the wife of Robert A. Harwell of Courtland and the daughter of the late William. W. and Sarah Elizabeth Lovett Oliver of Norfolk, She was a member of the Newsom Methodist Church and of its Woman's Society of Christian Service. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cullen Johnson of Richmond and Mrs. R.B. Story, Jr., of Courtland; four brothers, E.L.Oliver, W.W. Oliver and D.M. Oliver of Norfolk and H.G. Oliver of Coolidge, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Semmes Chapman and Miss Farmar Oliver of Norfolk; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were J.C. Story, George Prince, Gordon Oliver, Blaine Oliver, Dr. Keith Oliver, W.W. Oliver, Jr., Frank Oliver and Morris Oliver. [Catherine "Katie" (OLIVER; Mrs. Robert A.)
