Horne, Prominent Farmer, Succumbs to Short Illness Early This Morning; Funeral Sunday. George W. Horne, age 69 years, a prominent farmer of Zuni, died this morning at 5:25 o'clock in a local hospital, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. A. Horne, and thirteen children: Mrs. G.R. Bowen, of Newport News; Mrs J.J. Pulley, of Newport News; Mrs. V.L. Lowe, and Mrs. C.B. Davis of Richmond; Mrs. Staley Lewis, of Isle of Wight county; Miss Gladys Horne, of Zuni; B.G. Horne, of Windsor; George L. Horne, of Virginia Beach; L.H. Horne, of Zuni; W.H. Horne, of Richmond; J.L. Horne, of Newport News; Lloyd L. Horne and J.R. Horne, of Zuni. Also eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One brother, J.H. Horne, of Ivor, and two sisters, Mrs. J.R. Edwards, of Windsor, and Mrs. J.T. Johnson of Zuni. The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Tucker's Swamp Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Gordon Price. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** SUFFOLK DEATHS GEORGE W. HORNE Suffolk, May 14- George W. Horne of Virginia Beach; L.H. Horne of Zuni; W.H. Horne of Richmond; J.L. Horne of Newport News; and Lloyd L. Horne and J.R. Horne of Zuni; 18 grandchildren, one great grandchild, a brother J.H. Horne of Ivor, and two sisters Mrs. J.R. Edwards of Windsor and Mrs. J.T. Johnson of Zuni. Horne were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Tucker's Swamp Baptist church conducted by Rev. Gordon Pierce, Rev. W.R. Beulah, of Zuni, and Rev. E.B. White, of Windsor. The members of the church choir rendered the selections "Sometime We'll Understand," "In The Sweet Bye and Bye." A duet "The Old Rugged Cross" was sung by Mrs. L.H. Whitley and Mrs. J.T. Herrin, and a solo, "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" was sung by Willie Brown. There were many handsome floral tributes, the casket being covered with a double spray of lilies and fern. Active pallbearers: Goodman Horne, Letcher Horne Lloyd Horne, George T. Horne, J. Horne, Billy Horne, Elton Horne, Staley Horne. Honorary pallbearers: Percy Bradshaw, Ernest Mumford [sic; Munford], Noah Brock, Arthur Clayton, Jimmie Felts, Ben Eley, J.B. Newsome, Leon Lewis.
