All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ADDIE DAVIS JOHNSON IVEY The death of Mrs. Addie Davis Ivey, a life-long resident of Southampton County, occurred Monday morning November 10, at the home of her son, William B. Ivey of Newsoms, after an illness of ten weeks. She was 81 years of age. Mrs. Ivey was the daughter of the late William J. and Evengeline Griffin Johnson of this county and the widow of the late Walter Thomas Ivey of Newsoms. Surviving her are two sons, William B. Ivey and J. Thomas Ivey of Newsoms; a brother, Everett Johnson; four sisters, Mrs. N.T. Smith and Mrs. Delia Banty of Boykins, Mrs. Daisy Smith of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. and Mrs. Cora Taylor of Courtland; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. The funeral for Mrs. Ivey was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in Barnes Methodist Church and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. John W. Morrison, with interment in the cemetery at Newsoms.
