All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BENJAMIN LAFAYETTE IVEY Benjamin Lafayette Ivey, 79, a resident of Thermopolis, Wyo., for the past fifty years and a former resident of Southampton County, died Friday night, September 12, in the home of his nephew, J.T. Ivey, at Newsoms, while on a visit to his native state. He was the son of the late Benjamin Byrd and Mrs. Frances Newton Ivey of this county. He moved to Wyoming about fifty years ago, purchasing a ranch near Thermopolis, and he was a member of the Masonic lodge of that place. Surviving him are one sister, Mrs. T.C. Holland, Sr., of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Ivey were conducted at the grave in Newsoms Cemetery on Sunday afternoon at three o’clock by Rev. John W. Morrison, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church.
