Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. C.L. Gatling. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home was in charge. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to the Visiting Nurses Association of Arlington, 3905 N. Pershing Drive, Arlington. Pallbearers were Bruce Speight, Paul Rose, Mack Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Jr., Fred Jackson, Garland Jackson, Charles Henry Jackson, Joe Thompson, Arvin Thompson and Howard Braxton. Jackson, 63, of 3819 N. 13th St., died Monday in Arlington Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Gates County, N.C., and lived in Franklin until 1942 when he moved to Arlington. He recently retired as an employee of Arlington County. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Shirley Wellons Jackson of the home; a son, George Phil Jackson of Suffolk; a brother, Otis Jackson of Portsmouth; and four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Braxton and Mrs. Mildred Allsbrook of Scotland Neck, N.C., and Mrs. Juanita Ward and Mrs. Alice Sykes of Nags Head, N.C.
