Weede, in Second Avenue Monday, noon, in the 66th year of her life. She was a daughter of the late Captain Jesse A. Jackson and Mrs. Rebecca Jackson of Murfreesboro, N.C., and had spent the greater part of her life in Franklin, in the home of her brother, J.A. Jackson in North High Street. Last August she was taken ill while with her sister, Mrs. Weede, and had been confined to her room there since that time. She was a consistent member of the Methodist Church, joining that communion as a child and was a loyal communicant of High Street M.E. Church of this town. Funeral services were conducted from the Weede residence Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Rev. L.S. Flournoy of Richmond, a former pastor of the local church, who officiated on account of the illness of Dr. Spooner, and interment was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The body bearers were: W.T. Pace, Dr. W.H. Arthur, Dr. E.A. deBordenave, W.H. Jones, W.C. Watson, J. Emmett Moyler, Harry Steinhardt and C.V. McGehee. Besides her brother and sister, she is survived by several nephews and nieces and a wide circle of sorrowing friends.
