Jones, of Franklin died Sunday night at Martha Jefferson Inn, Charlottesville after a short illness. He was a native of Nansemond County, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Charlottesville. Surviving besides his wife are one sister; Mrs. T.A. Vaughan, and a foster sister, Mrs. J.C. Adkisson, both of Franklin, one brother; Wayland H. Jones, of Franklin. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Spring Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church. Active pallbearers were W.T. Pace, Jr., W.R. Atkinson, Delancy Hingerty, Clay Holland, Joseph H. Stutts, James E. Jones, J.J. Jones and James Rawls.
