FLORENCE VIRGINIA COBB JONES

   SOUTH NORFOLK - Mrs. Florence Cobb Jones, 62, died Tuesday at 12:35 p.m. 
in her home, 4102 1st St., after illness of one year.

   Born in Franklin, she lived here the last 18 years.  She was a daughter of 
Thomas Wade and Mrs. Lawrence Parker Cobb.

   She was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church.

   Surviving are her husband, William H. Jones; two stepdaughters, Mrs. 
Millicent Matheny of Cowen, W.Va., and Mrs. Mildred Brown of Norfolk; three 
step-sons, Willie A. Jones of Fayetteville, N.C., Bailey F. Jones of Princess 
Anne County and Robert C. Jones of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Clayton T. 
Drinkhard Sr. of Lynchburg; one brother, Herbert G. Cobb of Franklin; and 15 
step-grandchildren.

   A funeral service was conducted in Graham Funeral Home today (Thursday) at 
1 p.m. with burial in Whitney Cemetery, South Mills, N.C.
