Jones SUFFOLK - Joseph Cephus Jones, 84, of 8800 Corinth Chapel Road, died Tuesday in his home. A native of Nansemond County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mamie Coggsdale Jones. He was a member of Christian Church. Other survivors include, two daughters, Mrs. Ruby J. Lassiter of Franklin and Mrs. Helen Moreland of Portsmouth; five sisters, Mrs. Pattie French of Norfolk, Mrs. Vashti Hawa of Franklin, Mrs. Irene Sleeper of Holiday, Fla., Mrs. Margaret Thiodrakis [sic; Theodorakis] of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Mrs. Katie Korahaes of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Jimmie A. Jones of Franklin and Willie B. Jones of Virginia Beach. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. R.E. Brittle.
