ROSS JONES DIES THURSDAY AFTERNOON Mrs. Margaret Hargroves Jones, wife of L.R. Jones of Franklin, died at her home in North High Street yesterday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. She was the daughter of the late Willis Webster and Mrs. Julia Tatem Hargroves of Nansemond County, born in "Hargroves’ Tavern" near Drivers, the old home of that family. She was an active and useful member of High Street Methodist Church for many years and a charter member of the Franklin Music Study Club in which she was active until the recent failure of her health, and was also a charter member of the Franklin Book Club. Besides her husband, Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, R. Ellsworth Jones of Franklin and L. Ross Jones, Jr., a sister, Mrs. Wade Brinkley of Portsmouth, and by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock from her late residence by Rev. E.W. Aaron, her pastor, with burial following in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Margaret D.
