PAGE MOREHEAD JONES

   Mrs. Page Morehead Jones, 48, wife of R. Ellsworth Jones of Franklin, died 
in Raiford Memorial Hospital early Monday morning, September 27, after several 
months of failing health.

   A native of Lasker, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Dr. Robert P. and 
Mrs. Dorcas Ann Vernon Morehead of Wirt County, ??

   She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and its Woman’s Missionary 
Society, the Franklin Book Club, and the Southampton Garden Club.

   Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Robert Ellsworth Jones, 
Jr., a student in Duke University; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Morehead Shepherd 
and Mrs. Ola Morehead Chenoweth, both of Weldon, N.C.; and a brother, Dr. 
Robert P. Morehead of Winston-Salem, N.C.

   Final rites for Mrs. Jones were held at the graveside in Poplar Spring 
Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock.  Officiating were Revs. Ira D. 
Hudgins, pastor of the deceased, R.D. Stephenson, a former pastor, and Harvey 
L. Carnes, pastor of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

   Pallbearers were Robert Chenoweth, Joe Bynum Gay, Jr., Edward F. Gilliam, 
Emerson Jones, Dr. Darden W. Jones, W. Tall Jones, William T. Jones and G. 
Carl Steinhardt.
